Abandoned Chalk Pit
I had a lovely walk recently within the old Balcombe Chalk Pit in Glynde, Sussex which is amongst the South Downs National Park. The old building pictured is where the electricity was generated by a dynamo which was powered by a steam engine. The water for the engine was apparently raised by a windmill nearby.
