Abandoned Chalk Pit Quarry
Was not sure whether to include this chalk quarry mooch within this website, then I thought why not as it is relevant to the Artex Ltd factory that I had visited. We went there because my youngest Grandson pestered me to take him somewhere for an explore. I had a look on Google Maps and it showed a building still there. So off we went to the Artex Ltd chalk quarry in South Heighton near Newhaven.
Quarry Stripped Out!
When we got there, we found the chalk pit quarry completely stripped out and nice and tidy. “Never mind, lets see if we can find some Cretaceous fossils” Not one was found in the nearly two hours that we were there but we all had a whale of time in there.
