Abandoned Marine Workshop
When I read in my local rag awhile ago, that this Grade II listed abandoned derelict building which was once the old Newhaven Marine Engineering Workshop, that it had been given demo permission and planning permission for a college to be built in its place.

I just knew that I had to get in there pronto before it was all gone. I could possibly have got a permission visit but where is the fun in that? As it was, we noticed a couple on their mobiles opposite us on a boat talking about us to “Guess Who”
I love the idea and thinking behind the scenes of the University Technical College UTC@harbourside in Newhaven and I had been wondering and thinking about looking around this place for years but never ever got round to doing it! But then after reading my local rag, I decided that the place has got to be done.
I studied my pics, google maps, the tide times etc and at first did not think whilst walking along the river bank on the day that we would find a legal way in, The following pics are probably one of the last views of the old Newhaven Marine Engineering Workshop that you will ever see.
This explore was done with my Son In Law and Grandson with me being the very determined one! and was the first outing for my upgraded camera setup which was from a Point and Shoot to a Manual DSLR, I have had some problems in focusing in low light etc but I am learning new tricks on the fly from good ole google! The last three photos in the gallery shows work in progress and an artist impression of the finished building.
