Saxonbury House
This is Saxonbury House which is up for sale and owned by the Lewes District Council. Saxonbury House was the only local facility for the homeless needing emergency housing and, although far from ideal, it did at least allow local families, often at a time of immense stress, the chance of a degree of security and their own front door.
The alternative now, is a B&B or hotel outside their area, which is in no way appropriate for people in such difficult circumstances. It has remained empty since 2015 when the last residents moved out and is still unsold.
